If you’re familiar with the song ‘Down at the Old Bull and Bush’, it was actually written about our lovely wartime pub! If you haven’t heard it yet, make sure you have a listen – you’ll find it here. The iconic music hall song, sung by Florrie Forde, was written about the pub after it gained a music licence when Henry Humphries was the landlord in 1867 and became a popular day trip destination for cockneys.
